Olivier Pulmann began The Others in 2009, while he lived in New Delhi. Though a self-portraits series covering the archetypes of the different social or religious categories of Indian society, Olivier Pulmann appropriates the codes and practices of neighborhood studios, while exploring the limits of the photographic medium.

Biography
Born in 1970 in Paris, Olivier Culmann is photographer since 1992 and member of the collective Tendance Floue since 1996. Social conditioning and free will live in the work of Olivier Pulmann. Straddling absurd and derisory, his work analyses with a millimeter acuity the question of our daily lives and our relationship with images. Relentlessly returning to his obsessions and ours, he takes us by his humour and his art of narration.
